Ingrown Toenail Treatment

Causes
- Trauma during sports or walking
- Incorrect nail trimming
- Tight footwear
- Diabetes
- Congenital nail disorders, excessive sweating, obesity
Treatment Procedures
Partial Nail Avulsion: Removal of one or both nail edges; root cauterized with phenol or RF. Healing: 4–6 weeks.
Total Nail Avulsion: Entire nail removed. Healing: 4–8 weeks. Fingernails: ~3 months; Toenails: ~6 months.
